“I enjoyed every minute of the classes!”
I really enjoyed every minute of the classes, and I learned so much! I loved the format of having everything online, and I feel like the live zoom calls ended up being so much more productive since we all watched to video beforehand... I also found that the classes weren’t too drawn out, but we still covered everything I wanted to hear about. I really appreciated that we explored both medicated and unmedicated births from an unbiased perspective.
And they weren’t all pretty
The emergency C-section.
The days-long induction.
The three-hour pushing.
And now that it’s your turn, your mind is whirling:
“I’m scared of how I’m going to react! I don’t want to be out of control.”
“Will I be able to handle the pain?”
“How will I know if it’s really labor?”
"How do I advocate for myself in the hospital?
“Should I request an epidural from the start?”
“How do I know when to go in? I don’t want to be too early or too late.”
Between your sister, friend, neighbor, books and social media, everyone has such strong opinions on what’s the RIGHT way to give birth.
But you want to make your own decisions... based on your goals, your preferences, and your circumstances.
And to do that, you need the facts broken down clearly, calmly, and un-biased-ly.
The lie:
Birth is this scary thing you have to “get through” to meet your baby.
Truth 1
You cannot control every moment. But you can know what to expect — and navigate whatever comes your way with confidence.
Truth 2
Birth is an incredible, sacred, life-changing event… and with solid education and support, you can make it one that you look back on with satisfaction and no regrets.
“Helps you make your own informed decisions.”
As a 'graduate' of Birth Positive, I want to scream from the rooftops that your first birth DOES NOT need to be traumatic! Lauren explained everything so well and in a positive way! She didn't 'tell you what to do'. Lauren explained everything the pros the cons, and explained it in a way that helps you make your own informed decision. Can’t recommend her enough. Best birthing course out there! And the classes are super fun!

A guided experience for a more confident, empowered birth
The course is a full roadmap, from your first contraction to those first weeks home with Baby. Here’s what we’ll cover:
Module 01
Birth as a Life Event
Why birth is a life event, not just a medical procedure, and what actually determines birth satisfaction (hint: it's not pain level or how “easy” the labor was).
Creating Your Birth Team
Why your care provider shapes everything from your birth philosophy to your chances of intervention, plus guidance on building your full support team.
Communicating with Your Care Team
Making decisions with confidence, your right to informed consent, and the specific warning signs that mean “call your doctor now.”
Birth as a Normal, Healthy Process
An exercise that reveals what you really believe about birth, and why it feels so hard for so many of us in our modern-day culture. We’ll also learn that our bodies know how to give birth, physiologically, meeting the hormones making everything happen.
Intro to the Birth Process
How your body is perfectly designed for birth, the 5 simple steps every birth follows, and the truth about due dates (this one will save you a lot of anxiety).
Module 02
Anatomy of the Pregnant Body
Where Baby sits inside you and how the placenta, cord, and pelvis all work together as Baby moves through labor.
The Role of Contractions & Cervical Change
Using a simple balloon model, we’ll understand what's actually happening in your body with every contraction, and how to read cervical change as an indicator of progress.
How to Know When You're in Labor
The real signs of labor (not the dramatic movie version), the different ways your water can break, and the TACO acronym to help you track what matters.
How Labor Progresses
Your roadmap through every stage — early labor, active labor, transition, pushing, and the placenta — so you always know where you are and what's next.
Labor Variations
What's going on in your body (and what to do) in two different labor extremes: when labor stalls for days, or moves so fast there's barely time to get to the hospital.
Getting to the Hospital + Advocacy Strategies
Exactly when it's time to go, what happens once you arrive, and how to bring the calm of laboring at home with you.
Module 03
The Role of Pain in Labor
Why labor is painful (almost no one is taught this), plus the P.A.I.N. framework for working with your body’s signals instead of just enduring the pain.
Creating a Positive Birth Environment
How to set up your space to feel safe and undisturbed, who belongs on your birth team, and why continuous support (like a doula) is linked to real, measurable outcomes.
Non-Medical Coping Measures for Labor
Here you’ll get a full, varied toolkit– from positioning, to massage techniques, birth ball exercises, and breathing techniques.
Getting in a Positive Mindset
Concrete mindset tools (not just “stay positive” advice) — your own mantras, visualization, and getting into the pattern that keeps labor progressing smoothly (and which pattern to avoid…)
The Power of Visualization
A guided visualization exercise so you actually experience how powerful your mind can be during labor.
Medical Pain Relief Options
A judgment-free breakdown of epidurals, IV narcotics, and nitrous oxide, and how to stay active and comfortable even with an epidural.
Optimal Fetal Positioning
Why baby's position matters, and what to do if baby isn't head-down (it's not a definite c-section).
Movement for Creating Space in the Pelvis
Specific moves (pelvic tilts, figure-8s, asymmetrical positions) to help baby navigate down and through at each of the three stages.
Module 04
Using Your BRAIN to Make Decisions
The B.R.A.I.N. framework applied specifically to the hospital setting, and why speaking up leads to more satisfaction with your care.
IV Fluids & Monitoring Options
The options you actually have with fetal monitoring and IV fluids, and what the research really shows about these common interventions.
Induction and Augmentation of Labor
Every method you might encounter (membrane sweeps, Pitocin, the Foley balloon, and more) including benefits, risks, and natural alternatives.
Cesarean Section
What actually happens during a c-section, the clear medical reasons it's really needed vs. murkier territory, and how to feel in control either way.
Module 05
Pushing
How to recognize the urge to push, pushing on cue vs. “laboring down,” and positioning and pushing strategies you can start practicing now, in pregnancy.
Tearing + Prevention
The different types of tears, what influences your risk, and what healing looks like if you experience one.
Placenta Release
Your options for the third stage of labor, the benefits and risks of each, and the questions worth bringing to your provider ahead of time.
The Golden Hour
How to protect the first hour after birth: skin-to-skin, delayed cord clamping, initiating breastfeeding, and which newborn procedures can wait.
Immediate Postpartum Recovery
What's physically and emotionally normal in the early days, the warning signs that mean it's time to call your provider, and how to build your postpartum plan.
Module 06
Gestational Diabetes
What GD actually is, how you get tested, and what it means for your birth and postpartum period.
Blood Pressure Complications
The difference between chronic hypertension, pregnancy-induced hypertension, and pre-eclampsia, and the symptoms worth watching for.

Let’s do this for:
Birth isn't something to simply “get through.” It's one of the most significant days of your life! You deserve to feel informed, supported, and confident.
The course videos are for him too, so he understands what’s happening and knows how to support you at every step. Instead of him panicking on the sidelines, he’ll know what his role is at every stage of labor.
We don’t think twice when we spend $1500 on a stroller, $500 on a Doona, and $300 on a bassinet. But what about investing in the experience of your Baby’s arrival — something that will impact both of you for the rest of your life?
For a fraction of the cost of a stroller you can give yourself, your husband, and your baby the best chance for a calm, confident, and connected beginning.

I believe — no, wait, I know — that birth matters. It’s a powerful, transformative experience that you will remember forever, the bridge to meeting your baby.
Too many women enter birth surrounded by fear (probably having heard one too many scary birth stories!). They’re worried they won’t manage the pain, or they have no idea what to expect, or they’re worried they’ll fall apart if things don’t go as planned.
My goal is to help expecting moms uncover the confidence that is already within them — by understanding how birth works and learning their options. Because when you understand what is happening and why, you can approach birth feeling empowered, not overwhelmed!
You can rock this!
I also believe preparation means being realistic. Birth does not always go exactly according to plan — but with the right knowledge and support, you can feel ready to navigate whatever comes your way while staying connected to your own voice and choices.
I’m so excited to do this together!
Lauren
Absolutely! Your husband is encouraged to go through the self-paced course with you. This gives him the knowledge and confidence to better support you during pregnancy and birth. The live calls and private community are women-only spaces, but husbands are welcome to submit questions ahead of time. If you join the VIP tier, I’ll meet with you + hubby for your birth planning call to make sure everyone is on the same page.
The program is ideal for women between 20-34 weeks pregnant. If you are further along, you can still join, but depending on your due date you may miss some live calls.
You can e-mail in your questions beforehand, and I will send out a recording. I’d love it if you could attend live though! It adds so much to the call when you join in real time
If you go the DIY route, you’re likely going to start feeling information overload really quickly. This course doesn’t just give you more information to overwhelm your brain, it gives you a framework for understanding birth and how to make sense of everything you’re hearing. And when questions come up (because they always do!), you'll have somewhere to ask them. After our time together, you will have the perspective to know what's accurate, what applies to you, and how it all fits together. You'll have a clear vision of what to expect and how to navigate anything unexpected that comes your way.
Hospital classes are an appealing option - but they typically are limited in what they offer. They’re just a few hours, and cover the basics — but the main difference is that they focus on how they usually do things at their hospital, not all the options available to you. This program goes so much deeper than that. I’m not here to teach you how to be a good patient and follow the rules in your place of birth (sometimes at your own expense. In this program, you'll learn how birth works and understand your options so you know how to make good decisions throughout the process. And - you’ll have support as you prepare from me and the other women in the cohort.
A good doula can be a gamechanger… but your doula is only as good as you are! A doula isn't there to make decisions for you. The more informed and confident you are, the more you'll get out of having a doula. When you understand your options, know what's normal, and have thought through your preferences ahead of time, your doula can support you in the way that you want — and it will maximize every dollar you spent hiring her!
This isn't a “natural birth” course or an “epidural birth” course. It's a birth education course. Come in with an open mind to talk honestly about epidurals, unmedicated coping techniques, inductions, C-sections, and everything in between — including the benefits and risks of each option. Whether you already know you want an epidural, hope to avoid one, or haven't decided yet, you'll leave feeling unpressured to make decisions that are right for you.
The goal isn't to debate birth choices—it's to learn together in a supportive environment. We'll cheer each other on; and I set the tone for a warm, positive, judgement-free space where every woman feels respected, whatever her birth preferences. I also keep each group intentionally small, so everyone has a chance to ask questions, be heard, and feel comfortable sharing as much or as little as they'd like!
“After taking the course, I was equipped for a smooth labor.”
When I say I have zero regrets about my birthing experience it is due to both the education I invested in as well as hiring a doula which was encouraged in the education course. I felt that not only did this course cover the basics it also covered topics I had never heard of or thought would come up in childbirth! Lauren's course is extremely detailed and well-presented. Each topic is very clearly laid out with so much attention to detail and small nuances in order to answer every question one might have. I truly felt that after taking her course I was equipped for a smooth labor with the right tools.
Birth doesn’t always follow our birth plan.
The goal is understanding your options at every stage, trusting yourself to make decisions, and feeling confident that you can do this.
And when that first contraction comes… you’ll actually feel excited, not nervous.
I’m so ready for you to rock your birth — are you?
